The Preschool Program

The preschool room has a maximum of  30 children aged between 3-5years. A preschool teacher with a Bachelor of Teaching 0-5 years oversees the room. The staff supporting the program have attained Diploma or Certificate III training, all are committed to providing a high quality education for the children. The staff  to child ratio is 4:30 in keeping with best practice.

The preschool program offers a pathway the assist your child to have the best start at primary school.  The teaching staff prepare and implement the program in line with the Early Years learning Framework 2009, a new rating system – the National Quality Standard and the revised Education and Care Services National Regulations. The centre philosophy underpins all that we do and looks at the children holistically.

The preschool programs underlying structure is influenced by the children, the weather and other variables. Children need time and space to explore their curiosity, capabilities and emotions.

More information about the preschool program is available in the Parent Information section of this website. The teaching staff are also happy to assist and answer any questions you may have.

We welcome visitors to the centre including musicians, yoga and drama teachers to entertain and educate the children. We invite health professionals to share their expertise and support our health and wellbeing program.

Excursions into the wider community are undertaken in the context of the program and with related experiences. As part of our community participation we invite senior citizens to join us whenever possible, this is especially important as many families do not enjoy extended families living nearby.

Forming friendships and effective communication become more important to many children, friendships are encouraged and expanded.

Mutual respect for people and property are at the core of our room philosophy.
