Support our Centre (1).png

The SAP

Dear Families and Community,

In late 2023 the SAP development plans were released.

We urge you read the following SAP and make a submission to support our centre, in the Discussion paper, section 2.1 it is 'urging our centre to relocate'.

We have currently met with the SAP Director, Michael Keys, who has promised they never intended to close our services doors. We will be at our premises for the next 2-3 years and we hope to stay where we are or be given a fit for purpose premises within the new development! Definitive answers are unclear at this stage and we are waiting for the council to consult with us.

We urge you read the following SAP and make a submission to support our centre, in the Discussion paper, section 2.1 it is 'urging our centre to relocate'.

The delivery paper also touches on the proposed plan, section 4.2.

We currently licence the premises from SMRC and have done for over 31 years!!. After our meeting with the SAP team, our best bet is to create as many submissions of support as possible to see our centre exist into the future.

Please support our beautiful, not for profit, community centre, a charitable  organisation, by making a submission to ask what this means for our future viability.

You can view the plans and make a submission here at:

by 7th February 2024.

Your support is appreciated and we thank you in advance.

The more the community get behind this, we can only hope for a more positive outcome.

Kind regards,

Your SMCELC team
