About
From humble beginnings starting in the CWA hall to where we are today!

In 1991 the Jindabyne community recognised the need for an early childhood education and care facility. A steering committee formed and created Snowy Mountains Childcare Centre. Parents, in partnership with the Snowy River Shire Council, fundraised to start a new and exciting journey to provide a permanent location for a centre on Bent Street, Jindabyne.
​
In 2005 the centre changed its name to Snowy Mountains Care and Early Learning Centre to promote the high quality care it exhibited showcasing the centre's qualified Educators. In 2008 the centre increased its capability to care for up to 56 children. Now, and into the future we are focused on continuous improvement to build on the fantastic centre as we know it today.

The centre has been created by the community, for the community. We are a not for profit organisation. Our Approved Provider is a Management Committee comprised of parents of the children that attend the centre. Consideration for the children, families and the Snowy Mountains team are a highly represented through this structure.

Our Program
Our Educational Program is child centred. We focus on your children's needs, interests and values.

Our highly qualified Educators and Teachers provide an ongoing cycle of planning to develop a rich and valuable program for your child that evolves and changes every minute of every day. Our responsiveness and attentiveness to children are key elements.

Our approach is outlined by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Developmental Milestones with ensured compliance through our quality improvement plan to adhere to the National Quality Framework.
